Dr. (Mrs). S. Vijayalakshmi is working in Vignesh Nursing College as Principal
since 11th June 2011. She completed her M.Sc Nursing in March 2000 and Ph.D
Nursing in May 2009 with total of 20 years of Academic experience. Her
intellectual performances and innate potentialities made her to receive silver
medal for best out going student in B.Sc Nursing programme in 1996, Best Nurse
Educator Award from Vice chancellor Anna University in July 2011 and Honored
with Best Teachers Award by The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, in May
2012. She was a Resource person in preparation of records in OBG Nursing for
GNM, B.Sc(N) and M.Sc(N) programme and Resource person for the Online Module –
Pulmonary Anatomy, Physiology and Assessment, by Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives
Council. Recognized Ph.D guide in Saveetha University, The Tamilnadu Dr.M.G.R.
Medical university and Meenakshi University. Currently holding the post of Vice
president of TNAI Tamilnadu State Branch, Executive council member in Tamilnadu
Nurses and Midwives Council, Senate member in The Tamilnadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical
University, Executive Editor in Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecological Nursing,
Editorial Advisory Board member for Indian Journal of Advanced Nursing, Peer
Reviewer in Publication of RGUHS Journal of Nursing sciences, Elected as
Governing Council Member of The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR. Medical University, and Board
of Studies Member in the Dayananda Sagar University of Health Sciences,
Karnataka. Her career advancement is ever progressing in arena of publication of
books, paper presentation (50), organization and conduction (9) of workshops,
conferences and paper publications (20) at International, National and State
Level.
